San Francesco

San Francesco is the first bell installed in the belfries of the Mellieha Parish Church. It is the smallest of all five bells. On this bell, there is an engraved image of St Francis and at the back, an engraved image of the Holy Crucifix.

Latin inscription:
'SANCTE. FRANCISCE. ORA. PRO. NOBIS. EXPENSIS DOMINÆ. SAMMUT. AGIUS. MCMXXIV', which in English means: 'St Francis pray for us. Commissioned by Miss Sammut Agius: 1924'

Diameter and height 2 feet and 3 inches (0.685m) [Note that the diameter and height of the bells manufactured by 'La Fonderia Barigozzi' are the same in length]

San Salvatore (k/a San Giuseppe)

San Salvatore is the second bell found in the belfries. At the front, there is the coat of arms of the 'Fonderia Barigozzi' engraved, which consists of two angels lifting a bell. At the back of 'San Salvatore', there is an engraved image of the Holy Crucifix. There is also an engraved image of St Joseph and St Francis Saverio. 

This bell is most known as 'San Giuseppe'. All bells have their names engraved, however, this bell does not have the name 'San Giuseppe' engraved on it. This bell was transported to Malta in December 1923, and was blessed on its own.

French Inscription:
'CLOCHE. SAINT. SAUVEUR. OFFRTE. PAR. MADAME. VEUVE. LUIS APAP A BONA (ALGERIE) A LA MEMOIRE DE MONSIEUR JOSEPH VELLA', which in English means 'Bell 'St Saviour': donated by the widow Mrs. Luis Apap in Bona, Algeria. In memory of Mr. Joseph Vella.

San Antonio
At the front there is an engraved image of St Anthony and at the back an engraved image of the Hole Crucifix.

'SANCTE. ANTONI ORA PRO NOBIS EX. OBLATIONIBUS. FIDELIUM. MELLEHÆ. ET. CURA. SAC. VINC. SCICLUNA. MCMXXIV', which in English means 'St Anthony pray for us. Commissioned by donations from the faithful of Mellieha under the direction of Fr Vincenz Scicluna in 1924'.

San Paolo
San Paolo is the fourth bell, dedicated to St Paul the Apostle; patron saint of the Maltese Islands. At the front of the bell there is an engraved image of St Paul and at the back an engraved image of the Holy Cross.
Latin inscription:
'SANCTE PAULE APOSTOLE ORA PRO NOBIS EX. OBLATIONIBUS FIDELIUM MELLEHÆ. MCMXXIV', which in English means 'St Paul the Apostle: pray for us: Commissioned by the money donated by the faithful of Mellieha: 1924'.

Maria Vittoria
Maria Vittoria is the biggest of the five bells installed in the belfries of the Mellieha Parish Church. At the front there is an image of Our Lady of Victories engraved, and at the back an engraved image of the Holy Crucifix. This bell was named after Our Lady, Mother of Jesus, however, it is known as 'Maria Vittoria'. 
Latin inscription:
'GLORIA. PATRIS. ET. FILIO. ET. SPIRITUI. SANCTO. SALVE SANCTA PARENS EX OBLATIONIBUS FIDELIUM MELLEHÆ. MCMXXIV. S. PONTIFICE. PIO. XI. ARCHIEP. MELITAE MAURO CARUANA CURANTE. PAROCHO MELLEHÆ CAROLO CORTIS', which in English means 'Glory to Thee, Father and Son and Holy Spirit. Hail, Holy Mother. Commissioned by the donations given by the faithful inhabitants of Mellieha, in 1924. In the time of Pope Pius XI, Archbishop of Malta Mauro Caruana, and Parish Priest of Mellieha, Don Karlu Cortis.'
