In 1955, the Traffic Control Board redistributed buses into twenty-one (21) routes for Malta and one (1) for Gozo. Owners were allowed to transfer to routes which lacked the required number of buses. When applications for a route exceeded what was needed, lots were drawn. Route no. 6 comprised of Valletta, St. Paul's Bay, Mellieha, Marfa, Armier, Mgarr, Ghajn Tuffieha. On this route there were thirty-four (34) buses. The buses' colour was white with a 4'' (102mm) blue band. 

In 1973, the buses were amalgamated into three groups. The forty-three (43) year old color code was replaced by three colors. Green for Group A. buses. White with a blue band for Group B. buses ( this comprised of Mellieha, Mosta, Naxxar, Attard, Sliema, Birkirkara, St. Julians). This group's terminus was situated at the old Sliema side of Porta Reale. Red colour was introduced for Group C. buses as well as route numbers. 

Amalgamation into a single company took place on November 14th, 1997. All buses were painted green. This also brought about one single terminus, the one of City Gate in Valletta, as the one at Castille place was abolished. Later, the buses were painted yellow with an orange band, as they are still at present.
